Your AI settings control how Nextvisit AI generates your clinical documentation. These preferences are per-account, not workspace-wide.
Accessing your AI settings
Two paths:
- Click your profile in the bottom left sidebar, then select AI Preferences
- Go to Settings, then AI Preferences
Settings are configured per user. There is no way to set global preferences for all users in your workspace.
Healthcare profession
Select your specific healthcare profession from the dropdown. This sets the terminology, language, and documentation approach the AI uses. Whether you’re a psychiatrist, primary care physician, or another provider, this selection scopes the AI’s output to your field.
Note components
Choose which sections appear in your progress notes. Toggle on or off:
- Patient history: Adds comprehensive patient history background
- Mental status exam: Incorporates psychological and cognitive status into your SOAP notes
- Review of systems: Covers body systems for thorough documentation
- Therapeutic intervention: Integrates personalized treatment plan details
Enabling more sections produces broader documentation. Fewer sections allow for more detail in each included area.
Preferences
Control which AI-powered automations apply to your workflow:
- AI Medications: Automatically updates patient medication lists based on session details
- AI Diagnosis: Updates patient profiles with diagnosis information from your sessions
- AI Context: References prior session information when starting new sessions
- Patient summary: Provides complexity scores, treatment grades, and brief summaries to track progress
- Enhanced transcriptions: Improves audio accuracy and reduces spelling errors in medication names
Model settings
- Default model: Your preferred prompt type (e.g., “SOAP Note (Standard)”) for consistent formatting
- Model instructions: Write specific instructions to guide the AI’s behavior, such as “Add a telehealth consent notice to the end of each note” or “Include vitals if mentioned.” The system learns from your feedback over time and optimizes these instructions automatically.
Saving your changes
Click Save after making any adjustments. Your settings stay active until you change them.
