How to View and Restore Progress Note Version History

Track changes and restore previous versions of your progress notes with ease.

Updated July 9, 2025

Nextvisit AI automatically saves your note’s version history. If you made an accidental edit or want to compare versions, you can restore any previous state.

Accessing version history

  1. Open the progress note you want to review
  2. Click the version history icon (circular arrow with clock) in the note interface
  3. The Version History panel opens on the right

What the panel shows

  • Each version is listed with the date and exact time it was saved
  • The most recent version is marked “Latest”
  • Click any version to preview its content
  • Every version has a Restore Version button

Restoring a previous version

  1. Browse the versions listed in the panel
  2. Click a version to preview it
  3. Click “Restore Version” at the bottom of the panel
  4. Confirm, or click “Cancel” to go back

Restoring replaces your current note content. The restored version becomes the new latest. All prior versions stay accessible, and no manual saving is required.
